My Project
Game of Strategy: 7th Grade Chess Exploration is a classroom initiative designed to inspire young minds through the powerful game of chess. My 7th grade students have recently discovered a love for chess, and it has been incredible to see how engaged, focused, and determined they become during each game. Many of them had never played before this school year, but now they eagerly come to class, excited to learn strategies, test their skills, and challenge themselves and each other. Chess is doing more than entertaining them—it’s helping them think critically, plan ahead, improve concentration, and develop patience.
Through this project, I hope to build a structured and enriching chess program in our classroom.
Students will participate in lessons on opening moves, tactics, and endgames, and will put their knowledge into action through weekly tournaments and team challenges. To fully realize this vision, we need resources such as quality chess sets, timers, strategy guides, and possibly even a digital teaching board for demonstrations.
