This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are an independent study school that focuses on providing career and technical education to students who experience lower socioeconomic circumstances. The program at SAVA is meant to increase employability options after high school graduation. Students experience hands-on career and technical skill development, while developing concrete, on the job experience. These project-based, hands-on opportunities can be a springboard to a future career in the choice of career pathway for the student.

Students experience individualized programming as we support and impart an unconditional belief in the power of all youth to succeed now and in the future.

One key to our success is developing meaningful relationships while supporting future career goals.

My Project

The Game Day Bonanza will honor the hard work and commitment students have invested in their future by rewarding positive behavior that leads students closer to graduation and real-life success. We are creating opportunities for students to develop grit and perseverance while demonstrating academic success and thriving as community members.

The event and resources will be used to further the goals of social emotional learning and interpersonal skill development as students have the opportunity to work in teams and problem-solve through game and collaborative activities.

Students are engaged in a rigorous academic experience that pushes them to develop as a whole person as our program is specifically designed to focus on the full spectrum of a child’s life and experiences.

The goal of this project is to motivate students to feel confident about their skills and to accomplish meaningful skill development that will positively impact their lives now and in the future.
