Ms. Hyche from Selma AL is requesting educational kits & games through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need games to assist them in learning crosscurricular. Research has proven that learning hands-on through game-based learning allows students to learn more quickly than through rote.

My students are from low-income areas and need more support in reading and math. The students at my school do not have access to technology at home and are in great need of the resources that the school tries to provide.
I want to include more game-based activities to my inclusion and resource times that will assist in cross-curricular activities that will allow my students to work on having real-world application and problem-solving skills.
As the resource and inclusion teacher, it is my job to assist my students academically through hands-on learning to have success in academics.
This project will allow my students opportunities that they would not have otherwise. This would allow more game-based learning to occur in my classroom. Game activities would create more cross-curricular challenges in my classroom.

We would be able to use the games to learn subjects such as counting money using the Monopoly game. My students are still learning how to count the coins and this will be great practice for them. I also believe that critical thinking skills are important. Games such as Checkers, Perfection, Battleship, Connect 4, Guess who and Tick tac to make students think before they make a decision. This will help some of my students that like to rush through things have to slow down and practice having self-control.
I also like to use games to review a specific skill. I will change the rules and use flashcards. The student only gets a turn when he or she answers correctly. Some of the games that I picked for this included I can do that game, Trouble, Sorry! and Chutes and Ladders.
I will be incorporating technology throughout this by using online activities to assist in learning the skills that the students need to be successful in everyday life.
