This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"The beautiful thing about learning is that nobody can take it away from you." (B.B. King, 1998). Help facilitate the best possible learning environment and give the future thinkers of the world something that can never be taken away​ knowledge.

My students are resilient, determined immigrants and refugees from all over the world.

Their families risked everything to bring them to the United States in hopes that their children could break out of the cycle of poverty and gang activity so prevalent in their home countries.

Well, the hard part has just begun as these 5th graders start the journey to learning English. My students need access to effective, research-based materials to help them achieve the "American Dream" and become the world's next generation of leaders and innovators.

My Project

We have quite the diversity in our classrooms. Within my two groups of 25, I have 5th-grade students that read on a Pre-Kindergarten level, 5th-grade level, 8th-grade​ level, and everywhere in between, and that's just for ELA. That's a lot of different needs and lessons required by my kiddos but there is only one of me.

Having access to kid-friendly tablets for personalized, one-on-one intervention would be a GAME CHANGER!

There are numerous education apps on the market that are research-based and clinically proven to improve student scores and effectively fill any holes in their understanding that might be holding them back from being successful.
