My Students

Through technology, I am able to engage my math students in ways that were not possible before. Today's generation of learners flourish when using new and innovative technologies.

This year as a way to challenge our students we have begun a STEM Academy at our middle school.

I am lucky enough to be one of the STEM teachers and am looking for new and creative ways to motivate, challenge, and engage my 6th grade learners. Through the use of graphing calculators, I am able to present more advanced math concepts with an application to how these concepts are used in the real world. The students need to have access to the latest technology to help support our STEM Academy and that is why I am asking for your help.

My Project

The six, TI-84+ Color Graphing Calculators will benefit my students by allowing us to address higher levels of the CCCS in math. My 6th grade students will be working through the 8th grade math CCCS. The TI technology not only engages them, but with the new color screen allows us to graph linear functions using different colors to quickly identify each unique function. These calculators will better prepare the students for higher levels of math than could be accomplished without them.

It is my job to prepare the next generation of learners and by teaching them how to appropriately use the latest technology, they will be able to take their studies to new heights.
