Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our classroom is filled with 20 vibrant and inquisitive fourth graders! Ten of these children are special eduction students with an IEP, that struggle a little more to grasp concepts and keep focused. I believe that having this Elmo projector will help to make lessons more hands on, interactive, and fun. This will help to keep all of the students on task and interested in learning!
Our school tries their very best to provide all of the teachers with the tools that they need to teach fun and engaging lessons, however the times are tough and it is back to the basic supplies such as pencils, paper and books. Our student population comes from a very low income part of New York City and the school does not receive much funding for new technology.
With a new Elmo projector we will be able to project our textbook pages onto a smart board and actually write notes on the pages (without writing in the real book), do workbook pages as a class, project science experiments onto our board, and make boring old classwork fun!
You will make it possible for these students that struggle on a day to day basis think school is fun again!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
