This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Not having enough resources hinders a child’s opportunity to learn. In order to break that cycle it is necessary to provide students with as much materials/resources as possible so they do not fall behind.
What makes my students special is that they are eager to learn.
They love engaging in new materials/books/activities and are naturally curious about the world around them. Their eyes light up every time I bring something new that adds to our classroom. My overall goal is to help grow their eager minds and prepare them to be successful.
My Project
My students have been really awesome this year. Their writing skills have been developing greatly. The items requested would make such a positive role in their writing. Currently, we do not have a teaching easel or a large pocket chart and I know by bringing one into the classroom it would facilitate and improve their writing skills. The whiteboards, dry erase markers, and reusable write and wipe pocket would definitely improve their writing as well. They would get to practice their writing on their boards/write and white pocket as I model from the teacher easel.
TK is where children either begin or further develop their writing skills.
It is a big component within their learning that sets the tone for the rest of their academic life. I know that these classroom materials would be a great asset for these students.
