Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My middle schoolers are more than just animal lovers; they are aspiring veterinarians and medical professionals who treat our classroom as a functioning pre-veterinary learning lab. I love their dedication to our resident "patients," as they eagerly arrive early to ensure our animals receive the highest standard of care.

This project provides the professional scaffolding they need to transition from students to clinicians by putting real diagnostic tools into their hands.

The MDF stethoscope, Zyrev otoscope, and penlights are essential for mastering clinical life skills. Students will use the otoscope and disposable specula to practice ear exams, while the stethoscopes allow them to monitor heart rates, turning abstract biology into hands-on career exploration. To keep our "clinic" running, the wireless remote outlets and 10-foot USB-C cables will help students manage a high-tech research station. Organizational supplies like sticky notes and staplers teach the administrative discipline required in any medical career. Finally, Lysol wipes and batteries ensure our lab stays sterile and our equipment remains ready for daily "triage". Your support empowers these students to build the leadership and technical habits necessary for success in high school magnet programs and beyond.
