Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Middle School Science students are obsessed with Legos! They beg for LEGO days and try to convince me that we need a STEM Challenge day because they want to create and build with our LEGO sets. My classroom Legos are just barely enough to supply 31 kids per period with enough materials. By requesting more LEGOs through DonorsChoose, students can explore, collaborate, and engineer their ideas into reality with plentiful materials.

This project will provide more bricks and will fuel student curiosity with new car kits, difficult kits, and extra bricks for simple creative enjoyment.

Science students enjoy working together to solve STEM challenges and compete with others for creative and engineering success. The MESA elective uses the Legos and the Kosmos kits for building machines that will be used for competition at our UC Santa Barbara MESA day. The Legos and Windmill kit requested in this project will be used not only this year but for many years to come.
