My Students
Why, Why, WHY? The curious and inquisitive young minds in my classroom ask HUNDREDS of questions each day. I want to empower them to discover the answers!
I have two groups of preschool students that walk through our classroom doors each morning and afternoon.
They are curious, creative, and eager to learn. As they begin their first school experience, it is crucial that I help instill a love of learning and equip them with tools to better the world.
My Project
My goal is to encourage a love of science and an appreciation for the world in which we live early in a child's life. Curious by nature, children would have the opportunity to actively discover and expand their knowledge of our world and scientific concepts through student-led, inquiry based learning experiences. Observing butterflies and birds grow and change, using magnets to manipulate objects, and growing their own vegetables and plants empower students to make sense of how things work. These hands-on experiments, manipulatives, and age-appropriate opportunities to explore our world would engage children's hands, minds, and hearts. Increasing a child's knowledge of our environment will encourage them to respect and care for our world outside of the classroom.
The addition of these materials will enhance science instruction in our preschool classroom and help children answer their own questions of "WHY?" These tools will help foster an appreciation for our world and empower children to explore and solve problems on their own.
