Help me give my students a deeper understanding of the inner workings of the world of science. Science World helps them access articles that allow them to explore different areas of science, while strengthening their reading skills.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have completed my first year of teaching in the 5th grade, and it was a spectacular year! We learned so much from each other, and at the end of the year we were not ready to say so long. Now that I am moving on to my second year, I feel amazing about what the year holds.
When my students enter my classroom, I want them to feel welcomed and supported in their learning environment.
I will encourage them to explore and stretch their thinking beyond what they believe they can do. I will push them to be their best and will support them so they can continue being the positive light in our community.
I am excited to meet my fresh 5th graders, many of whom I met previously, and they are a fantastic group of students. They appreciate their teachers and their hard work and I will work diligently to continue the positive educational path they are on to ready them for their new journey into middle school.
My Project
Science based journals will give my students the opportunity to discover the world of science in an even deeper way. Students will be able to research subjects that interest them, and will help them deepen their understanding of reading informational text by extracting the necessary information to help them learn about a subject.
STEM activities along with Science World magazine will inspire the curiosity needed for students to want to explore hands on activities.
Among the core subjects, science is the subject that my students are always asking what are we learning next. Being able to create projects that incorporate reading, math, and while peaking their curiosity will help me get them to their next level of learning and exploring.
