This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at an elementary school in Georgia. My students are hard workers and eager to learn. I am constantly trying to find new and innovative ways to challenge their thinking. They really are a great group of individuals that work well together. We spend a lot of our time together working in groups and encouraging each other to continue to grow academically. Another important aspect in our class is social emotional learning. I want my students to live up to their full potential in all areas so that they are prepared for their future.
My Project
I have a few students that need extra practice with reading comprehension and math facts. These resources will allow my students to practice independently while I work with other students. The workbooks will be my data collection to fully understand what my next steps will be with those students. I want my small group of struggling students to have their own books so that they can work at their own pace while mastering second grade skills. This will be perfect for them because of it being aligned with our state standards and giving them exposure in a manner suited for their abilities.
