Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At the end of the year I would like my students to feel comfortable with themselves in a way that they can succeed in this world that we live in and in order to do that they need to express themselves artistically. My biggest challenge is not having the proper materials to do that.

My students come from a low income community where some things can be a challenge for them.

They are very expressive students in which they require many materials to do that. Our school is a title one school which means that they need funding to enhance their learning. They are excited to come to school everyday and I want to keep encouraging that.

My Project

My students need flat paintbrushes, acrylic paint, post it charts, oil pastels and colored pencils so that they can use their artistic abilities to express themselves. Our fourth graders just starting mixing which means that all the classes get to learn how to express themselves in art. I get to teach the visual arts so we are very excited. The students will be able to use these materials to meet the visual arts standards needed for fourth grade. They will also be able to express themselves in art and learn about all the wonderful artist in history. They will learn how to use different mediums in creating their masterpiece like Picasso did.

These donations will improve my classroom because my students will then have the materials needed to express themselves in art especially those who do not succeed in other areas of the curriculum.

It will allow me to teach my students some wonderful teachings in art. I can introduce them to some great artists like Picasso and Van Gogh and they can use these materials to create their own masterpiece. It will change their lives in a way like no other.
