My Students

I am a 5th grade teacher at a charter school in Colorado Springs, CO. Being a charter school, our access to funds is significantly reduced compared to non-charter public schools. Having chosen to put their children in our care, parents of my students are committed to their child’s education and their love of learning. My students have a love and desire to read and learn new and interesting facts. The students in my class all come from different socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Our high percentage of ELL (English Language Learners) are successful despite the wide range of learning speeds, and are grouped to further their development. We are a school of character and academics that believes all students can and will learn if the teacher has taught.

My Project

I am looking at ways to extend my students minds in the area of math. I want to provide them with support by exposing them to a variety of math question formats outside of their standard math curriculum. I am requesting Let’s Prepare for PARCC Grade 5 Math Test. These textbooks will provide my students with numerous ways to solve math problems as each concept builds on each other throughout the school year. These materials will provide students with extra support that will help them to be more successful in all areas of their education.

These textbooks will be used for years to come to support numerous students in their academic endeavors.

These books will give them foundational skills that will build an immense level of confidence that they can carry through the rest of their academic careers.
