Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from different socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and countries. They range from general education, special education and ESL students who are just learning the English language. My students have some of the most beautiful souls and often help fellow classmates that are struggling.

I believe that every single student has a purpose in my classroom and can be successful.

As their teacher, I always try to find a way to boost my students' self-esteem, practice what it means to truly love yourself, be accepting of others and find a love for science.

My Project

For the next school year we will have a separate class every day to meet with our students to review, give extra help or offer enrichment. This class was designated as a way to bridge the gap left from the pandemic. I asked my students what were some meaningful enrichment activities they would like to learn and I was left with resounding "How does money work?"

My students want to know how to properly save and invest money for their future, but also how to budget in the real world.

My students want to learn how to be fiscally responsible so they can have the future they've always dreamed of. Many of my students will be the first in their families to seek higher education either through college or trade schools. Knowing how to save and invest in themselves is something that I hope this project and these supplies teach them.
