My Students

I am proud to say that I have eighteen of the most amazing kindergarten students entering my class this year. Each and every student has a unique quality that makes them special and endearing. Whether it is being a great reader or a kind friend, every child makes our classroom feel like a big family.

I love that the students in my classroom come to school excited and eager to learn despite challenges they may face at home.

They may not have had breakfast or a good night sleep but once they walk through our classroom door, they feel loved and safe. I love being a part of that and I hope my student do too.

My Project

In case you didn't know, being five is hardwork. For many of the students in my kindergarten class, this is their very first experience in an educational setting. I want to provide an environment that stimulates their creative juices.

The STEAM Center that I am hoping to create will give my students the chance to work with a variety of materials that help foster creative problem solving.

Everyday the children will have the opportunity to work with one of twelve drawers that contain various STEAM activities designed to build their brain muscles. They will be building houses with Magna-Tiles, designing cars with K'Nex and making their own creations with gears. Each month the activities will be changed to keep the center fresh. I believe that the children will find their time spent strengthening their minds to be not only educational but fun.
