Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school district has adopted a new Language Arts curriculum this year called ARC. The majority of the lessons focus on the use of reading and writing skills tied with authentic literature. Although thematic books are provided for the students to use, many of our Multilingual Students find the reading levels are too advanced. I am looking to provide books that are appropriately leveled for them to work on our last theme of the year: careers.

The donations to this project will help to improve my Multilingual students' understanding of careers and provide some classroom necessities.

Our students are learning about various community helpers such as firefighters, teachers, doctors, police, etc. I would like my multilingual students to have the same opportunities to research professions and careers as the rest of the second grade students.
