My Project
As the athletic director at West Jordan High School, I have had the privilege of mentoring emerging professionals in various domains, including aspiring athletic directors, sports broadcasters, and statisticians. One of the most rewarding aspects of this position is witnessing students transition from their roles as athletes to engaging with the sports they love from a different vantage point.
To facilitate this learning experience, students are organized into distinct groups responsible for covering each sanctioned sport we offer at West Jordan High School, such as football, basketball, soccer, and track and field.
By utilizing the provided iPad, those I mentor can collaborate on various projects with different teams. This includes gathering and analyzing game statistics, which fosters their analytical skills, as well as providing a platform for initiating their broadcasting careers through live commentary and video production. Such hands-on experiences not only enrich their understanding of the sports but also equip them with practical skills that are invaluable in the field of athletics and beyond.
