My Project

Writing in kindergarten is amazing! Students talk and tell stories all day, but what they choose to put on paper is usually what is most special to them.

Getting there is a journey!

Teaching writing to kindergarteners is a rewarding challenge. The range of skills varies greatly in the beginning of the year. It is just amazing to see students who can't name a letter in September writing sentences in June! Please help my students on that journey to become authors.

Goodbye floppy folders! In this project I hope to replace writing folders with durable clipboards. Students will have all their materials in one place, take it to whole group and join shared writing time. The tracing boards, pencil grips and weights are for students with fine motor challenges. These tools help build strength, coordination, proper pencil grip and pressure. The dividers help students stay focused. We are in need of a new pencil sharpener that can sharpen all of our different shaped pencils. The organizer will be our hub that keeps extra paper and materials at the ready. I am so excited to see what my new authors will write this upcoming year!
