My Project
Our students come from countries all over the world. They speak many languages and celebrate diverse cultures. Learning acceptance and cultural understanding is part of our daily experience.
Soccer is a universal language that they all understand.
When we play soccer in physical education, we transcend any language barriers that may have previously created misunderstanding or difficulty joining together to play. Since most of my students are familiar with soccer, we can learn English as we move through the paces in our soccer units. We need futsal balls for indoor soccer played on a gymnasium floor, corner flags to set our boundaries, sand to weigh the corner flags, and captain's armbands to identify team leaders during play.
