Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come from a variety of different backgrounds. They are bright, amazing, and curious little ones who love learning. Many come from households where English isn't their first language. More than three-quarters of my students come from low-income hardworking households.

Many of my students have never been through any Pre-K program, and kindergarten is their first time in school.

They are expected to learn reading, math, science, social studies, and some form of the arts throughout their kindergarten career.

My Project

Our school is a small school attempting to bring STEM education to our youths. For the upcoming school year, we are rolling out a STEM program for our late elementary to middle school students. This project is to fund the furniture for our STEM class. This project includes 24 stackable chairs, computer tables, stools, and a makerspace shelf.

We want to create a space where students can tinker and be creative.

Our students come from a variety of backgrounds and have not had the opportunity to work with robotics, code, and much more. These beautiful pieces would help make our class unique from other classes and their own space.
