This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My preschool students are amazing children from many different cultures and backgrounds. Our urban magnet elementary school has an international focus. In my class, there are 8 students whose first language is not English, and best friends often speak different languages!
My Project
The furniture in my classroom is over 10 years old--and it looks it! The chairs are especially worn. No matter how much I scrub them, they won't come clean. Items that have broken haven't been replaced, and my classroom could really use a makeover!
The materials I am requesting will allow my students to collaborate in places that can be cleaned easily, will accommodate social distancing, flexible arrangements, and students with special needs, and will inspire them to love our learning space.
There's just something peaceful about walking into a clean learning space. I want my students to love school and think of it as an extension of their home. For some of them, it's the safest place they'll be all day. Please help me make this dream a reality.
