My students are special because they have a unique desire to want to learn. They face many challenges coming to school, but despite all the challenges, our students and our school succeed. Many of our students live in poverty and lack the many resources they need at home and at school to meet the needs of our changing society. We have students who attend our school who still don't have access to personal computers in their homes. Many students are able to use their parents' smartphones as a means to connect with technology, but it is not a substitute for having a personal computer to complete homework assignments and learn more about the world around them.
My students have a desire to want to know more about our world and how it works.
I'm empowered to help teach them all they need to know, to be able to interact in a society that focuses on math, technology, and science. When students have a desire to learn, it helps to motivate me to make sure they have the tools they need, so they will be able to make an impact on their future.
My Project
My students love reading books that are fun to read. I have found a collection of books that will have them tickled pink. I would love to expose my students with funny and exciting books that have them running to the bookshelves in our class. I would also like to give them fidget toys to keep them occupied when they are not reading.
Learning should always be fun when possible.
I love to create a learning environment where students enjoy what they are doing and have fun doing it. Reading should be fun as it requires students to become part of the story.
