Everyone can be a fun guy or gal while learning about the life cycles of fungi like edible mushrooms! I teach 3 classes of 7th grade Life Science in Southern Ca.
I am a new teacher and my classroom has extremely limited materials and supplies. Students have shown an interest in learning about asexual reproduction and having a mushroom farm for my classes will give them a hands-on opportunity to learn about the life cycle of fungi.
I have 3 7th grade life science classes and need one mushroom farm kit for each. Our standards require that my students learn about the differences in the life cycles and sexual and asexual reproduction. A mushroom kit will show my students how mushrooms live and grow, the different structures of the mushroom plant and how tasty and nutritional mushrooms can be. Students will observe their growth, dissect them, make slides, observe the structure and function of the mushroom's anatomy.
Your donation will make it possible for my students to have a hands-on learning opportunity that will last them a life-time. These cross cultural and cross curricular activities will help excite my students as to the wide range of careers that science can bring to their lives.
