Help me give my students access to sports-specific training equipment so our girl's varsity basketball team can work on basic fundamentals, such as shooting and rebounding skills.
The athletes at this school are from many different backgrounds, we are very diverse. Our students come from different cultures and are all very close. These athletes have had little opportunities to play recreational sports growing up. High school sports for most of our athletes is their first-time experience.
Our school motto is "Can't rock the Pub!" Our athletes are brave, committed, determined.... and soon to be FIT!
What I love about our school is that everyone comes to practice ready to become better no matter what.
We are a proud school community, I want our athletes to feel like their hard work is noticed. They deserve to have access to up to date fitness equipment and sports equipment.
My Project
Women's basketball in our state is HUGE. However, the girl's basketball team at our school has been put on the side burner over the past few years. I am a new teacher and coach at this school and the young ladies deserve the best experience.
These young women need quality equipment to help teach them the fundamentals of basketball, in an innovated way.
The basketball rebounders will be helpful for players to work on rebounding consistently. The same goes for the dribbling goggles, this is a great way to help players get better at dribbling without looking at the ball. These small items will enhance our practices while making it more fun and challenging.
