My Students

My students are highly-motivated and driven learners with a desire to actively engage in mathematics! They are fully committed to learning how the world works by engaging in mathematics and STEAM topics! Our classroom is vibrant, active and hands-on. There's always something going on! My kids are active and engaged learners who spend their math classes in small groups working problems out on marker boards together! There's never a dull moment in our class.

Our school is located in an urban city in Wisconsin.

Our school has a very diverse population of students. My students have many strengths, but also have many needs. Thirty percent of my students are English Language Learners and fifteen percent receive special education services. Forty percent of our school's students are economically disadvantaged.

My Project

My students are in need of notebooks, pencils, erasers and dry erase markers to help them be successful middle school mathematicians!

Many of my students arrive on the first day of school without the materials to help get them started off on the right foot.

There are many families in our community who struggle to be able to afford the notebooks, pens, pencils, etc. that appear on every back to school supply list. By having pencils, notebooks, markers and erasers available to all of my students I can ensure that they have what they need to learn math and keep up with the content they need to learn in 8th grade.

I can't tell you how happy it makes my students when they have a brand new notebook and new pencil to use during class!
