My students need a Music & Movement CD, some beginning sound centers, some alphabet little books, some phonics sorting centers, a word building center, and a rhyming word center.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I am an energetic Kindergarten teacher that teaches in a high poverty school. My favorite thing to see is the light in a child's eyes that shows he/she is learning and wants to learn more. Please help me feed that hunger for learning by funding this project idea!
My students come to school with no supplies, hungry bellies, and a smile on their faces. Many of these students were not able to attend a pre-K program. Therefore, many do not have any readiness skills. Since I have so much to teach these little ones, I try to find fun ways to teach them. I use things that I purchase from the dollar stores to make centers. As you can imagine, these centers are not sturdy and don't last. With so many cuts in funding, I really need your help to acquire centers that will be durable and help students have fun while practicing and reviewing skills that I am teaching.
By helping my class, you will provide 6 durable centers that I can implement into center-time immediately. You will provide 2 resource books that I can use to make more centers as the students progress. You will provide a Music and Movement CD that my auditory learners will use to sing and learn skills. You will also provide Sing and Read Little Books that I can reproduce for my students. These little books will be used to teach skills, increase reading fluency, and will be taken home to practice sight words in a fun way with their families.
By supporting this project, you will ensure that these students, who began with no readiness skills, can progress and truly live up to their abilities.
