My Students

A quote by Phil Jackson says, "The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each individual member is the team." My students are fourth and fifth graders who have chosen to be a part of an after school activity where team-work is paramount. They have shown dedication and tenacity by choosing to be a part and continually striving for excellence.

Throughout this year, they have learned to collaborate, problem-solve, and utilize their strengths to assist others, all while watching their ideas come to fruition.

They are truly seeing that with team-work and determination, anything is possible!

My Project

Odyssey of the Mind is a creative-problem solving competition. The students will utilize science, technology, engineering, arts, and math to find a solution which they present to judges in the form of a skit. The program allows the children to cultivate their creativity and grow as a teammate.

"Creativity is intelligence having fun,"by Albert Einstein.

Competing in the Odyssey of the Mind competitions help the students learn valuable life-lessons they may not be exposed to in a typical classroom setting. These life-lessons can vary from sewing, building bridges, conflict resolution, negotiation skills and teamwork. Please help us go on our Odyssey.
