My Project

Life skill students are the BEST students! Students in the life skills class are so fortunate to have a new classroom with a kitchen and a washer and dryer. However, I am seeking items to fill our cabinets and mimic the home setting. In addition, I am requesting towels, shirts, socks, and laundry accessories to practice washing clothes. I am also excited about cooking with our students! Our students will learn core skills through measurements, wait time, and following a recipe in a precise manner.

These resources will help us navigate functional daily living skills by creating an environment similar to a home setting.

By making this classroom cozy, functional, and accessible for students with special needs, we can really make a difference in the way our students continue to learn how to live an independent life without needing too much help from those around them.

Baking items will be used for our students to bake a cake for their classmates in preparation for their birthday! In addition, our coffee percolator will help us to prepare coffee and hot chocolate for school functions. Furthermore, reusable plates and cutlery will give us experience and practice with using the dishwasher and dining with peers/friends. Our requested sofa converts into a bed to teach our wonderful students how to make and prepare the bed on their own. Your donation would truly impact the future of tomorrow by helping our children to become more independent.
