Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from low socioeconomic families. Most are second language learners and only get the chance to speak English at school. 100% of our students qualify for breakfast and lunch. Many students don’t know when their next meal will come. Our students receive free uniforms and free backpacks. Many of our families live in multi-family households. My students need extra supplies so they can have a safe, warm, and welcoming environment when they come to school. Please help support our class!

My Project

Being able to find a book in an organized library is an awesome feeling - not only for my students but for myself as a teacher. Knowing that I can grab all my No David books Ilama Llama books, or books about friends makes my day just a little easier. I started last year going through all my books and I noticed that I had a lot of duplicates and books that weren't appropriate for four and five year olds.

Once I sorted through my books, I started using the black bins as means of storing the books and creating labels for the different genres.

My fellow teacher is like can I borrow my No David books - it's that good - I'm really looking forward to finishing the project - so I'm excited for donations to complete it.
