This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Phonics is an important part of learning to read in kindergarten. Zoo-phonics is a kinesthetic, multi-modal approach to learning all aspects of language arts, including vocabulary development and articulation, based on phonics and phonemic awareness. These resources will allow me to creatively reach students at different levels as well as keep them engaged in the process. Phonics teaches students a fun and creative way to learn their letters and sounds. It will be motivating for the students to want to practice and hopefully develop a love for learning phonics and reading. It will also allow for extra practice.

Reading is very important.

It impacts success for all academic subjects. A couple of reasons that children struggle with reading is because of lack of adequate instruction which is likely a result of no materials and poor exposure to language and early literacy activities. I do not want this to be the case for these students.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase the phonics and reading skills of the students, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Students will be able to learn phonics in a fun way and catapult them into reading. They will build a strong foundation in their reading skills.
