Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love to learn and get so excited when we get to do hands on activities. They love making connections between what they are learning in the classroom and with the world outside. They are always ready to try new things and they are growing so much, both as students and as children who are caring and helpful in their homes and communities.

Though they have a wide range of abilities, each of my students shines in their own way.

They are hard working, creative, and always full of questions. We use a variety of learning methods in our classroom. We work in groups, with partners, as a class. We love using technology to broaden our understanding. My students are eager to learn each day and it's so fun to watch their brains click when they learn something new!

My Project

My students love to read and we do it on the daily. They love having lots of options to choose from and enjoy discovering new genres to try out. We have lots of different categories in our classroom library and they treat our class books with love and respect. We then take what we learn in our reading and write about the connections we make with the world around us. They love sharing their own stories, thoughts, and opinions.

New books and writing journals will give my students the opportunity to broaden their perspectives and express their ideas more clearly.

They will be able to practice their handwriting as well as show their artistic sides by drawing pictures in their journals to go along with what they write. The books will provide and even greater variety for them to choose from which I believe will help them come to love reading even more.
