My students are an excited young class of kindergartners! They are very ambitious and curious about the world around them! Many of the students at our school come from high poverty families.
We are a Title I school and 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch, so most of our families do not have the means to help financially in their child's education.
For many of my students English is not their first language, but we have started our year with enthusiasm and are ready to overcome any obstacle in our way.
I am asking for two sets of felt board stories to help my students with story retell and comprehension. These felt stories will be used by both teacher and students. I will use them to reenact the stories once they are read to help students comprehend what is being read. They will also be used to remind students of beginning, middle, and end. All of which are district and state standards for kindergarten. Once the story has been told by the teacher these stories will be placed in a literacy center for students to reenact on their own! This will create a fun and educational activity for students to enjoy.
