This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
First grade is a big year for growth. Students begin connecting what they've learned about letters and sounds to spelling and reading. The students love walking around the school and realizing that they can actually read.
The games and activities funded by this project will give my students fun and engaging ways to practice the spelling patterns we are learning in class independently.
I want my students to be excited and look forward to phonics daily. I know these activities will build that excitement and foster a love for reading.
