This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

One of my biggest challenges is getting my students to be excited about math. They can't see that it's a life skill and doubt they will need it in their future. Most of my students believe they simply can't do math. I need them to know "that it's okay not to know, but it's not okay to not try".

My students are awesome!

Every student is on free lunch, and most come from a low income family. My school tries hard to make a family environment that welcomes every student to class. All of the students need a reminder why their education is important on a daily basis.

My Project

These Math Magazine will help my students relate math to their daily lives. The activities available to the students through these magazines will engage my students, making them enjoy math, and realize it's not scary. The confidence they will receive by being able to complete the math activities will carry over into the regular math curriculum, improving their overall mindset.

Having this donation will help improve my class by creating a fun environment.

Instead of the students dreading math, they will look forward to coming to class. By helping the students improve their math skills, they will be able to succeed in their future, in and out of school.
