My Students

Students today have the world at their fingertips through technology and innovation. However, this often comes at the expense of valuable map skills and an understanding of world geography. I desire to bring history alive by enhancing the geography and map skills of my students.

I am blessed to teach Social Studies to 130 hardworking, dedicated, lively and imaginative 6th graders at a charter school North Carolina.

The creativity and enthusiasm of the students makes everyday exciting as we dive into Ancient World History together!

My Project

With the wall map, Atlases and Google Maps resources, I will be able to make the world come alive for my students. Throughout the year we travel through time and across the globe in our study of Ancient World History. In order to make each time period come to life, it is important that my students have an understanding of location, and how this location has impacted the lives of the people who live(d) there.

Having these hands on resources in the classroom will be a huge asset to all of my tactile learners.

Being able to see where events take place in relation to the rest of the world will allow for deeper understanding and more connections to be made.
