Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students I teach are full of life and love. OSH is a school full of pride and school spirit. OSH is known for their football team. But, they are so much more than good athletes. Most come from single-parent homes where they themselves are parents for their siblings. Some are in impossible positions they never asked for. I am asking for help with items I have seen as needs, to help improve learning in my classroom. Thank you for supporting my Tigers!

My Project

Math is so important. But, I also think socialization is very important too. So many of my students have never played board or card games. The first time I had cards in the class it was so fun to watch. They loved the interaction and winning. So, with winning or losing comes being a good citizen. Meaning winning without rubbing it in and losing without causing a fight. These kids spend so much time on their electronics and on social media...that they respond the same way in person. Social media makes it easy to be rude and be unkind. Playing these games face to face will improve math logic but also social skills.
