This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a guidance counselor with a diverse population of students ranging from honors, special education, and English language learners who come from many different cultural backgrounds and educational needs. We are a Title I school which means that students come from many different social and economic circumstances. I work with students from grades six through eighth and meet with several weekly. My students are located mostly in the Elmhurst and Corona area of Queens which has been hit very hard by this pandemic.
Socializing at lunch is the key to success!
I want to provide my students with games to use during lunchtime so that they can socialize with their friends and play a game at the same time. Many students are bored during lunch and ask me for a game to play. The zip lock games will be used to make sure all the pieces for the games stay together.
