Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are very special first graders in a high needs area of a borough in New York. Each student is unique in his or her own way and deserves to have the best educational experience possible. Most of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch and come to school every day eager to learn.
Unfortunately, my classroom does not always have the supplies we need.
Every donation makes a difference in my students' lives. I look forward to creating projects that will make our classroom a joyful learning environment. Thank you!
My Project
March is a month where we celebrate the wonderful author Dr. Seuss and Read Across America!! As our students go through their first-grade year, I want them to learn to love books. That is why we are celebrating Read Across America in March in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday. I love celebrating this special day with my students to foster the love of reading that I try so hard to have in my class.

We would like to have Cat-in-the-hat hats, books, pencils, bookmarks, snacks and other resources for a super-duper reading celebration. The banner and photo props will help decorate our classroom and the hats will be fun for all of the children to wear. We will have lots of fun photo memories with the hats and props!I want to make this a memorable day that they will look back on as their favorite part of school.
Help me bring a day of fun to my first-grade students in the school. The donations will make Read Across America Day extra special for my students!
