My students need a harmful insect display, n ant farm and an ant farm refill set.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Liles's classroom raised $159
This project is fully funded
I teach science to students in kindergarten and first grade at a charter school in Harlem, NYC. Approximately 70% of students' families receive public assistance and/or qualify for free and reduced meals at school.
This semester, I would like to pursue a lesson on insects. Right now, the material that I have for my students is based in books and pictures, but what better way to teach about life than to bring life into the classroom!
While the lesson will cover a range of insects,I think that the perfect tool would be an ant farm. The ant farm would be an interactive tool allowing students to connect what they learn on paper with what they see in front of them.
Please help me bring my curriculum to life! Students will certainly engage more with the material if the subject matter we are describing is crawling, tunneling, and moving right before their eyes!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
