This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Using this larger white board daily during small group instruction will allow my students to show how they got their answers without running out of space , especially during math time. This larger white board will allow me to see their work, share their work, and best of all, be able to move around the room with the board from center to center. This will make a difference in their learning environment because they will feel empowered to take risks, learn from mistakes, and overcome fears and anxiety in a small group setting; especially for the ELL students who are sometimes a little shy sharing their work with the entire class.
The headphones are also a must for centers.
Sometimes students forget their headphones at home, lose them, or leave them in another class. Having a set in the classroom will eliminate students having to go searching for their headphones and will maximize center participation with fewer interruptions.
My goal for this project is to increase participation, maximize student engagement, encourage risk taking, and ensure a smooth transition into small group and center time.
