This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school serves a diverse population of students and families with 100% eligible for free lunch. Many come from nontraditional homes, being raised by single mothers, grandparents and other family members. Language barriers can be challenging. In a mainly Hispanic speaking community, they all come in eager and ready to learn.
My goal is to ensure that each child is provided a safe and nurturing environment.
Each child learns differently. Using different activities and games is away to enhance our out of the box thinkers.
My Project
Children all learn differently. It is important to meet the needs of all students. At times, that can be difficult and even boring. An exciting way to liven up learning is through playing games and using hands on materials. Struggling writers thrive and learn when using their fingers to make words with cubes. A way to reinforce sight word knowledge is by playing BINGO. When learning new skills or reinforcing old ones, making it fun will excite the children. Excited children do not even realize they are learning. They just think they are having fun. Having fun is what learning is all about.
