This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a high poverty school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch! I have high expectations that they will grow and learn beyond what is expected. We are learning skills such as robotics, coding, and typing along with our curriculum. School is a safe and happy place for my students. Each day, they come into the classroom excited about the day and spending time exploring and learning together. For many of my students, being at school is the best part of their day.
My Project
These stools and chairs will help the students who have Trouble sitting still. They will help those students who need special seating in order to work without disturbing others in the class. These chairs and foot rest are not only good for those who are sitting in them but also the entire class who are trying to learn. The foot rest will allow students to move (wiggle) their feet without distractions to others. Flexible seating will allow my students to choose where they feel most comfortable working in my classroom. Providing them with different seating options will allow the student to pick what works best for them. This project will help promote a more student centered classroom and give all students a reason to strive for excellence.
