Fun School Therapy

My Students

The students on my caseload at DC Public Schools are children with a vast array of disabilities. As the physical therapist at different Title I schools, my role is to facilitate gross motor skills for the student's access and participation in the school environment. This includes work, play, and functional activities to promote functional mobility skills in the school environment such as walking along different surfaces of the school environment like the hallways, playground, stairs, etc. Many of the students require manual assistance, durable medical equipment, and braces to reach their goals.

My Project

The requested items will be used for therapy sessions to help the students in my caseload learn and acquire the necessary gross motor skills to move around the school environment as independently as possible to access their educational environment.

Having these new and fun materials will further engage and make school-based physical therapy treatment sessions more enjoyable.

I want the students in my caseload with various physical and learning disabilities to have the best learning experience as they spend time learning and developing their gross motor skills related to access and mobility in the school environment.
