My Project
Students at my school have thirty minutes of sustained silent reading every day. Research shows that sustained silent reading helps students become better readers, if they are able to focus. I have found that fun and comfortable seating can help students focus on their reading. Sitting in these chairs helps students have a special experience when they are reading. Being a good reader helps to unlock the learning that students do across the curriculum beyond reading class to science, social studies, and math as well.
In addition to being the key to future academic success, becoming a lifelong reader can enhance and enrich a person's life by giving them access to the boundless world of great literature!
