This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach Pre-K in a large New York City school. I have 20 students in my class who are incredibly creative and funny. I call them my "smart cookies" because they love to learn. They come from diverse backgrounds and have strong family ties.
Each student is creative and knowledgeable in their own personal way.
The Instant Science Learning Boxes (set) will help my students become aware of all of our monthly units. They will be able to engage in activities such as planting seeds and watering the seeds/plants every day. They will be doing hands-on science activities throughout the year.
They all contribute to the class differently. I like to build a sense of community within my classroom. We learn and grow together. We help each other. The children come from different cultural and economic backgrounds; however, most have good support systems at home. Many of my students at the beginning of the school year are shy and timid. By the end of the school year, they are bright, shining stars! The transformation is remarkable. Science Instant Learning Centers.
