Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 2nd graders enrolled in a Spanish Dual Language program. Our school is located in the Northeast San Fernando Valley. Our community can be categorized as lower, to middle class. Students range in age from 7-9 and are learning all of their curriculum in English and Spanish.
Please help me to provide fun, engaging and active lessons that will facilitate Mastery of Second grade standards.
An active outlet through physical education will facilitate focus an understanding of academic subjects.
My Project
Of the many subjects children study in school, there are few more important than physical education. A high quality curriculum aligned with state/national standards and guidelines, along with hgh quality physical education program offers children opportunities to develop the skills, concepts, and dispositions needed to be physically active for life. Students who participate in regular physical activity will benefit from better learning; reduces stress, anxiety, and depression; and improves overall student wellness. It doesn’t matter if the child excels in every other subject in school and becomes a successful member of society it they suffer with poor health. All people need physical education fo live a healthy life. Colorful and attractive materials will help with engaging young students.
