My special education class is made up of some pretty spectacular kindergarten and 1st graders. I teach resource, inclusion, and tutorial classes. Our class is made up of students who have: ADHD, learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and/or autism. It is hard for most of them to sit and focus on instruction.
Despite their disabilities, my students come in my class smiling and eager to learn everyday!
Watching their smiles and excitement when they achieve a goal makes my job the most rewarding ever!
My Project
My students need fun and engaging phonics activities to help them learn how to become fluent readers! It looks like we are only asking for three things, but it will end up being thirteen activities. We need a complete set of phonics magnetic word building boards to practice building easy to challenging words. We need a complete set of phonics instant learning centers to explore vowel sounds, decode 2-syllable words, master prefixes and suffixes, and more! We also need a complete set of touch and read phonics match to master reading consonant vowel consonant words, vowel sounds, and blends and digraphs!
"Learning to read is like learning how to run, the more you practice, the faster you become, so practice once a day, and go out and play, play, play!"-Sophie Carter
Thank you in advance for contributing to our sweet class and helping build bright futures!
