Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As an occupational therapist at Chicago Public Schools, I have the opportunity to make skill development fun and impactful. The students I work with range from preschool to Jr. High age and deserve the fun tools to help them learn and grow. We will use the bean bag to help with self-regulation and to provide a calm space, adapted tools like the rock crayons will be used to develop finger strength and to help students develop their grasp, and games like Jumping Jack will be used to help students take turns and manipulate game pieces.

My students benefit from a variety of sensory supports which can be integrated into their classrooms, games to build skills and confidence, and craft supplies they can use to showcase their skills.

My students will deeply appreciate any contribution. Thank you!
