My students live in a rural community of about 2,000 residents. They may not realize it yet, but they are growing and learning in a very supportive and tight-knit community that cares about each of them.
In my classroom, I have 18 kindergartners of varying social, emotional, and academic needs.
They are creative, clever, and spontaneous! They have so much excitement for school and learning; it makes my job so enjoyable! My students are unique individuals with unlimited potential. It is my job to ignite their excitement for learning so they can reach their full potential!
This year in our school we are focusing on improving our students growth in mathematics. Math fluency is an important component of our daily math lesson. The ETA Hand to Heart Daily Math Fluency kit will help my kindergarteners build the following skills: subitizing, counting on and counting back, use five/use ten, use doubles, get to ten.
A strong foundation in number sense is essential for a solid mathematical mindset.
This resource will be used daily to encourage students to think critically about math and to also build automaticity with mathematical concepts. Thank you for checking out our project and for helping my little mathematicians!
